Away! To Far-off Lands!

Off to Edinburgh in an hour. That's if I catch the train. If I don't, it's 2 hours.

Must dash. Photos soon.

I'm in Scotland!

Technology this time won't fail me. Doing 98mph and just went across the border into hilly/grassy/sunny/cloudy/grey/miserable Scotland. Usefully, I forgot that my railcard had run out back in June, so the ticket checking person gave me some "stern words" before charging me an extra £30 to stand up most of the way. Thankfully, lots of people got off at York, so I got a seat.

So, if the course of things is normal, I'm going to get to the venue to find out they've lost our application, don't know who we are, have no record of us giving them any money, and will have also lost the £2000 or so worth of kit I'm having delivered there. Just like old times :)

Still Here!

I'm doing something useful. Edinburgh smells. I'm going home soon. My site doesn't work well on a mac. Oh well.

Dribble down the country

On a train again. There's no direct trains from Edinburgh to London, so I'm on this strange thing that's going to take me to Prague first I think before depositing me in the Atlantic. After that, it's swimming the whole way. Apart from that, it's been a good week. The show's really good (COME AND SEE IT!!!!) although I left my camera in the theatre, so no pictures for a month. Must go get that back at some point......

Lots of stuff

Well, there's not a lot going on here. Hence the lack of updates. Things I've done include not buying stuff, writing a thing to put winamp controls on the desktop (shout if you're interested), shouting at Microsoft, and the washing up.See? I told you it was dull.

What's going on here then?

I've been having a mildly non-interesting week.

Many things have happened that have dull (the washing, the ironing etc) and a few none dull things (birthday, beer, trying to move house etc). The moving house one is interesting due to the complex nature of the "negotiations" going on between 6 people who want to live together, a landlord who we think lives on a completely different continent, and an agent who apparently can't spell. So this is actually being a little bit of a fun time. Still, with a fixed moving date of 3rd September, by which time I need to have bought things like beds and sofas, it's roaring up like a large thing that roars.

On the upside, I got cake, which was good.

Once again, I travel to the far ends of the earth seeking many and various things

I'm going to Edinburgh again, and I think the reason is well summed up by the word "socks". So once again I get to fight my way through the rush hour (bank holiday weekend) commuter rush as I struggle to find a person-size space on a train which has no seat with my name on it.

I might have to shoot some people to get my way, but I'll make sure I'll be humane.
