Well, I went to see what the hype about XHTML was, and saw that it was a good idea. So now I'm going to make this wonderful site fully XHTML 1.0 compliant. I'll probably use strict as some sort of punishment for myself, but I'm toying with the idea of alienating all IE users (91% of the internet apparently) by serving it up as applicaion/xhtml+xml rather than text/html. Hmmmmm...........
If it doesn't work for a bit, that'll be why. You could solve it by either waiting for me to change my mind, or by using a better browser. Like firefox :)
Hurray! They gave me a laptop! It's a nice T42 Thinkpad, with cool toys like a built-in keyboard light, fingerprint authentication and bluetooth.
*does little dance*
Ahem. Anyway, it turns out that they give me quite interesting things to do. Like write reports and figure out why stuff doesn't work. And stuff. I might go abroad. One day.
On a different note, it's sunny!!! Well, it has been. Really really "I don't need a coat" warm, which, given that it's March, is quite remarkable.
So as my first paycheck came slithering through the door, I bought my first bargain/toy/work enhancer: A wireless access point. After shopping around, and hearing bad things about WEP and good things about WPA, I decided to shop around for an access point that did WPA, and preferably 802.11g (the quick one). Seeing prices up in the hundreds, I was shocked to find an access point that did all those things for £33.15. Thank you Dabs :)
Anyway, it turned up, I plugged it in, shouted at it for a bit for not working, got it working, went "ooo", and am now sitting on the sofa basking in the radiation that is secure wireless goodness.
