W00t. And a Yay!

Well, it's finally arrived. Happy New Year to everyone. I had an 'interesting' new year's eve to say the least. It was generally decided that we should go to Times Square as that apparently would be the place to be. After getting there at about half five and going through about 385 separate security checks, we found ourselves in not too bad a spot in a large crowd pen at about 46th/47th street. This was all well and fine, but we eventually realised that nothing actually happens and we were too far away to be able to hear any of the entertainment. That coupled with the fact that there wasn't enough room really to do anything other than stand up and feel your back ache led to us taking the decision to leave at about 8 and go to the park. It got a bit more lively in the park when we walked into and fell into a rather strange conversation with 3 Americans. That passed the time rather well, and after watching the rather good fireworks go off at midnight, I went home, as it was pretty damn cold.So that was my New Year. Different, certainly. Now I'm going to eat cake.

Like a lift through the wind

A number of interesting things occured.1) I got paid. This is a good thing. It caused (2).2) I bought a camera.Piccie!!!!!!However, I ran out of money directly after buying the camera, which means I can take a total of about 15 photos before I run out of space on the supplied memory card thingie.3) This is bad. The day I buy a camera, all the lovely weather wanders off and is replaced by this grey overcast mulch. Dammit.

Hmmm. Home.

I'm now back in Cambridge. The downside is two-fold: firstly, I am no longer on holiday; secondly, I still think it's yesterday. At the very best about 4pm yesterday. Ah well. At least it's warm. The flight, as usual, was delayed because the US government have taken to searching everyone who leaves the country as well as enters it. This, they seem not to realise, makes no sense. Still, it means that I got no sleep and landed today at about lunchtime. This doesn't mean that I got lunch though, oh no, I waited a whole 5 hours until it was lunchtime in New York, so that it would feel right. Now it's 9pm, and I have no idea what year it is.I should get on and work.

Wheeeeeeee

Photos are up :) They're here. And because I've a new camera and had about an hour free today, I put up a random photo section for all the pictures that I take that don't fit anywhere else.

High society

I just did a gig. By "gig" I mean I sang with 4 other people at this thing that's called the Gugenheim Dinner. It's essentially a party held by college for anyone who has lots of money or is a fellow. Anyway, we had to sing for a grand total of 5 minutes, and havn't been paid yet. Hopefully that'll happen tomorrow. And it allowed us to get some Slime sport action in.

These diary titles are getting more and more obscure.....

It's 2 in the morning. I just got emailed asking me if I want to do a week 3 play. Did I say yes? What a stupid question :)

All praise be to the chocolate machine

It must be my lucky day. I go to the all hallowed chocolate machine, put in "exact money only" (35p) and I'm pleasantly rewarded with not 1, not 2, but 7 dairy milks. They're all sitting in my fridge now, and I'm sitting here being smug :) Mmmmmmmmmmmm......

Goddammit

I have now eaten all the chocolate. Well, I couldn't just leave it there....Then again, I have a piece of paper which lets me log into the UN website and view any treaty made ever. Why on earth I would ever want to do that, I don't know. Chemists. Honestly.

Important stuff

I should make an entry here. Quite what I'm going to say, I'm not sure. This might be one of those entries that no-one understands, except for me, a year from now. Let me think of something memorable to say. Oh yes. Bad. Today was bad. Tomorrow is going to be worse, but today is bad. If you know me, don't ask why. I knew this page served a purpose :-)

An interesting non-worky day

Well, today didn't exactly go to plan. The plan was to get up at 9:30, and work until the afternoon, and then go to a party. However, as it turned out, I got up at 9:30, phoned the Arts Theatre lots to try and ask permission to do something, gave up, went all the way out to north Cambridge to Stage Electrics to hire 2 lanterns, came back, sat down with a cat on me, went to watch half a play, and now I'm going to go to a party.

I've got no work done, but I have two large Par-64 1kW Floorcans sat on my desk. Joy.

Another interesting non-worky day

I got up at 8:30. I was in a theatre (a cold theatre at that) by 9am. I was there until about 4, at which point I went to see a doctor who told me I was ill. I then went back to the theatre. I left the theatre at 9:30pm, and now I have to work. I envisage working until about 2am, at which point I will sleep until 9am again, as I have a lecture at 10am.The scary thing is, I really like doing this. :)

IT'S SNOWING!!!!!!!!

It's 1 in the morning, and I discovered it's snowing. So, of course, I took my camera outside to take some pretty pictures of college. And I found about 5 other people doing the exact same thing :)

Mmmmm Snow....

It's stopped now, but after looking at the pictures I took last night, I realise I seriously need a better tripod. The only one that came out vaguely well was this one, but I like it.
