If you've got a problem, sort it out :)

Well, I had a few initial teething problems with my new computer, mainly that the 12V line on the psu would go rather mental when any load was put on. Soooooo..... I got a new one. For the same price that I've just sold the old one for. It's gold-coloured and rather pretty and everything works fine now :)

I managed to get to 3 GHz earlier, but it wasn't very stable. I think it needs more volts...

/me wonders off with the soldering iron and the resistors...

The Freshers are here....

Well, it's that time of year again. College is full of students wondering round looking embarrassed (sp?) whilst their parents stand next to them saying "you will do your washing now." and it's all rather amusing. Still, it means I get to be a task 'setter' on the pub crawl tonight. And I get lots of money the day after tomorrow. Mmmmmm, Student loan...

18 hours sleep... mmmmm.......

Due to various circumstances (work, socialising etc.) I got little sleep the night before last. Although this made me the most alert person in the 9am lecture on saterday, it did mean I had difficulty distinguishing 'today' from 'yesterday' and 'the day before'. The upshot is that I woke up an hour ago from 18 hours sleep :)

That time of day. Again.

Well, I'm at that point on a wednesday evening where I'm not quite sure who I am, whether I'm hungry or not, or what the hell is going on anyway. I think I need a holiday. It turns out that the 1B natural sciences course here is actually marginally better orginised than the 1A course, in the sense that I get fewer lectures. But more practicals. But practicals are fun :)

Anyhow. I've decided to buy a monitor as this one is crap. Basically. Hopefully, 17" of tft should turn up tomorrow, which is good.

Also, the saga continues...

Things in boxes.

New monitor arrived this morning. The AOC LM720A. Hang on, there's a picture somewhere....

I might swap it for another as there is a dead pixel in the middle of the screen as well as another one near the top. Apparently AOC will replace it. We'll see....

Weather's gone all funny as well. We had about 80mph winds here on Sunday, which nearly smashed a few windows around here. And I've run out of food, so need some more. Lots more, in fact. And before I forget, my replacement cold cathode arrives tomorrow :) I really should send the other one back when I get a free moment - things which are rare right now. :(
